Currently, there are a variety of vocational schools and personal training schools from which to choose should you desire to pursue personal training fitness careers. In addition, there are a number of certification programs that are offered through traditional colleges and universities that help candidates get on track for successful personal training fitness careers.

Sometimes, personal training fitness careers may require a bachelor’s degree for various hiring institutions; however, the greater part of employers seeks candidates who have at least achieved certification from an accredited school or college.

Once individuals have made the active decision to pursue personal training fitness careers, it is wise to review potential training academies for prerequisites, tuition, curriculum, and whether the school meets all certification credentials (with regard to educational programming).

Common academics for personal training fitness careers include exercise science, physical education, anatomy and physiology, first aid and CPR, kinesiology (muscle testing), nutritional counseling, and business training. In addition, while many training courses like this focus primarily on personal fitness, some degree programs integrate additional coursework in business administration and management, as well as general training in communication, humanities, and other health sciences.

The great prospect of personal training fitness careers is that according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, “opportunities are expected to be good for fitness workers because of rapid growth in the fitness industry.” Also, depending on education and experience, professional personal and fitness trainers have annual median earns of about $25,000 but may well exceed that amount.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in achieving personal training fitness careers, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started!

The true facts about having a career in advertising, breaking past the myths.

Myth Number One: Anyone who has a career in advertising must be unethical and it is a dishonorable career choice.

Truth: The advertising field is a well respected career choice. Sadly, there are those that will also surmise that if you are trying to sell them something than you are actually trying to deceive them in some way or another.

The truth is that advertisers must abide by a strict list of specific parameters that ensure against deception. The last thing that an advertising firm would want to do is tarnish a client’s standing by misrepresenting them or their product.

Myth Number Two: Anyone in the advertising field is rich.

Truth: It is a fact that there is a lot of money that can be made in advertising as a career, but only a few people actually earn those six figure incomes. A lot of people start at the bottom and some will even choose to intern without a salary or earning just minimum wage in order to break into the industry.

Advertising is not that different from any other career choice. You must pay your dues in order to move up in the field. How well you do in the field is strictly up to you and as with anything else, you will get out of it what you put in.

Myth Number Three: It is very difficult to break into the field of advertising:

Truth: If you are serious about getting into a career in advertising, the jobs are out there. You certainly won’t get that corner office on your fist time out, but if you are willing to work hard there are many great opportunities in the field.

Myth Number Four: A career in advertising is just another name for public relations.

Truth: While they do go hand-in-hand, they are not the same profession. You can use the skills you master in Public Relations but just because you have a career in advertising doesn’t make you a PR specialist. The focus is different for each career.

Myth Number Five: A career in advertising is fun and always glamorous.

Truth: Don’t let TV shows, like Madmen and others that glamorize the career cloud your judgment. It is not always a day at the beach. Remember, it is a job and it requires hard work. The hours are long and often require weekend work. You may work on a campaign for weeks only to have the client trash it or change their minds completely.

Myth Number Six: All of your creative ideas will be put into use:

Truth: Creativity is a wonderful thing, but it has its place. Clients often have a specific idea in mind and as a professional advertiser you must always follow the client’s wishes. Don’t get your feelings hurt if your ideas are not put into practice. In general, advertisers work as a team.
There will always be a need for advertising and with hard work, you can break into the field and have a very productive and prosperous career in advertising.

By: Mark Castle

A career in the lock and key or locksmith industry can be a rewarding one. So how do you go about becoming a locksmith and what should you expect form the job. This article will give you some information on becoming a locksmith professional.

First lets talk about the job itself. Locksmiths are involved with many parts of home, auto and business security. They might be involved in installing and maintaining security and entry systems. They may also be involved with installing new locks, re-keying locks, installing safes, making keys and just about anything that has to do with locks. Locksmiths might work at a central shop or you may have to travel to work at your customers home or business. You should expect to work an average 40 hour work week with some overtime being required.

So how do you become a locksmith? Well most locksmiths learn their job through on the job training. You will need to get a job with a local lock and key service who will train you in the various aspects of the job. Depending on the state you live in you might also have to become certified after being trained. Once trained you can expect to earn somewhere between 30 to 35 thousand dollars a year. If you decide to open your own business you can make more money but you should expect to work much longer hours.

So if a career in the lock and key industry still sounds interesting contact some local locksmith services to see if they have any openings. You won’t regret it.

By: James C

These days this field of Geology is growing in popularity, and there are many jobs available. However, before choosing this field as a career choice, it is important to find out what it entails.

What Does Being A Geologist Entail?

A geologist is someone who studies the earth’s composition, mainly the different kinds of rock formations. It also involves the study of organisms that inhabit it. The science deals with the analysis of the Earth and its origin, history, and minerals. Some of the branches of Geology are Mineralogy, Geological Engineering and Geomorphology, to name a few.

Geologists play an extremely important role in exploring and discovering natural resources and the mineral wealth of the earth. The main functions of a geologist entail observing natural calamities and their various effects on the environment, and to explore mineral, oil and natural gas fields and underwater resources. Their observations of the structure of the earth and the soil is important to evaluate if the conditions in certain areas are suitable for constructing bridges, roads and buildings, and for laying railway tracks.

Furthermore, some geologists also search for deep-sea natural resources. Oil exploration is another field that requires the services of geologists. Geologists can determine the quality of soil by conducting geo-chemical and geo-physical tests. Based on reports made by them, construction of roads, reservoirs underground tunnels and bridges can be undertaken. Overall, becoming a geologist involves a lot of knowledge and expertise.

Careers in Geology

Geology, as a career choice today, is more exciting than it ever was. Whether out on the field as backpackers, or indoors in the lab, it involves adventure and deep exploration of our planet. The field is wide ranging and offers a plethora of job opportunities. Nevertheless, it is advisable to first find out what kinds of geologist careers are available before you go ahead and make your decision.

People studying geology have the option of becoming geographers, geologists, oceanographers or meteorologists. Since geologists play an important role in finding valuable mineral resources, the avenues for them in the private and public sectors are vast. Careers in geology range from studying and predicting natural and man-made disasters to exploring mineral resources. Here are some additional careers that you can pursue if you have a degree in geology:

•	Petrology

•	Paleontology

•	Volcanology

•	Geochemistry

•	Geophysics

•	Mining

•	Environmental Education

•	Environmental Law

•	Environmental Consultant

•	Research and Field Study

If you are planning on pursuing one of these careers, then information can be obtained through the Internet. Additionally, there are various books and resources that are dedicated to imparting knowledge and information on the subject of geology.

On the whole, pursuing a career in geology is an awe-inspiring and satisfying experience. Not only is this field fascinating, these days it also pays very well. If you are interested in the environment, the processes and the structure of the earth, its evolution, and the organisms that live within it, geology as a field would be an ideal choice for you.

By: Tony Jacowski

People usually look for a new career either when they are bored or when they are looking to do something new. Starting out a new career maybe scary for few people in the beginning, but it promises to be a completely new adventure in the long run.

Planning plays an essential part of success when embarking on a new career. The first thing to do when planning on a change in career is to check the prospects the new career has to offer you, both professionally as well as personally. It also includes forgetting the skills or experience that you have acquired from your old job.

It is obvious that if you’ve been working as an engineer for two years, you can’t use those skills if you have thoughts of starting out a career in writing, unless you’re writing on engineering subjects.

Given below are some of tips on starting out on a new career:

•	Look for some support: Be sure that your family and friends support you with respect to your new career. Starting a new career doesn’t mean that you should shut them out of your social life. Keep yourself surrounded by positive people who drive you to achieve your goals.

•	Recognize your strengths and weaknesses: It may also mean that you need to know your likes and dislikes. The reason why you’re starting out a new career may be because of something that you didn’t like in your previous job. Don’t repeat that mistake. See what you’re good at and try to improve the areas where you lack potential. Try and find out your passion, since that is an ideal way to start a successful new career.

•	Talk to people who have gone through your experience: Knowing what other people went through in similar experiences and how they have achieved success will prepare you in advance to encounter problems in the future. People who have had experience in this matter provide great advice on change in careers. Try and dig out information on what amount of commitment it takes to change and start a new career.

•	Keep track of emerging careers: Due to innovative concepts, new career options are sprouting up everywhere you look. Do your homework and look out for new and exciting career options before settling in for any one. The IT and retail sectors are on a roll. You will find many career options in these sectors.

•	Groom yourself and create a good resume: Always keep your resume up-to-date – you never know when you’ll need it. The first impression you make is often a lasting one.

Starting a new career can be stressful; but by following the tips above, you can give yourself the best chance for success.

By: Tony Jacowski

Careers in the medical field are growing. The need for people to care for an aging, baby-boomer population in the United States, has created a deficit of qualified medical personnel. There is a lack of medical professionals in areas from entry level to executive management.

Open positions range from certified nursing assistants and hospital orderlies to board certified physicians specializing and various areas of medicine and everything in between. The largest deficit, however, falls in the areas of registered nurses and physicians assistants. Register nurses are needed throughout the country in doctors’ offices, clinics, hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, and other medical facilities.

Other careers in the medical field include physical therapy, respiratory therapy, x-ray technician, radiation services (CT, MRI), and other specialized medical fields. All of these career areas required training and education specific to the area of specialty, but its well worth the effort. People who choose the medical field as a career can expect to receive wages and salaries that are well above the norm.

With the exception of the most entry level positions, such as CNAs, who are usually paid a little more than minimum wage, those who choose careers in the medical field are paid well and can often earn as much or more than corporate executives. There is a tradeoff, however. Many medical professionals, especially physicians and nursing staff, will often be required to work longer and more hours than the average professional. These are demanding positions and require a person with the physical and emotional fortitude to handle the many ups and downs that come with working in medicine.

Careers in the medical field also include those of psychiatry, mental health, nutrition, and addiction. These career fields require education and training in addition to the normal requirements for a particular position. If you are interested or working in one of these fields, you should be prepared for continuous changes in the science and application of your chosen area of expertise. The sciences of these special fields are ever-changing and the people who have dedicated themselves to them must be able to adjust and change along with them

If you’ve chose careers in the medical field, you’ve made a good choice. The job outlook for medical careers is stable and steadily rising. It is unlikely that this will change any time soon. Just remember that the the more education and the more specialized education you have the better the pay will be. Start your new career in the medical assisting field online.

By: David Millers

Everyone in the job market needs more than a resume to succeed in today’s employment environment. The changes happening during this current economic downturn and the expansion of the global marketplace can have a tremendous effect on our careers. Since very few positions and industries are protected from the impact of these events, it’s necessary to be as prepared as possible.

That’s why the career portfolio has become a more than a helpful tool for job hunters; it’s now a mandatory survival kit for anyone who works for a living. Even those in the labor force who feel some sense of job security need one. It takes planning just to stay competitive if you’re ever interested in a job transfer, getting a promotion or making a complete career change.

If you’ve never considered having a career portfolio, now might be a good time to build one. Here’s a checklist for the basics that should see you through everything from a new job search to an inevitable, unfortunate layoff:

A current resume that can be easily customized for several different positions. Having one resume with a narrow career focus can leave you scrambling to put one together if you ever need to act quickly. It should not only be current, but general enough to tailor to a variety of jobs without needing a complete revision. A list of references with the names and current addresses and phone numbers of at least three to five people who can attest to your work experience, skills, character, or education. Again, a great list of references won’t be much good if the people on the list can’t be found. It’s a good idea to stay in touch with your references at least once a year. It’s also a good opportunity to network with them if you’re back in the job market. Work samples. That would be easy for a writer or graphic artist, but what if you’re a customer service representative? That’s when it’s time to be creative. A spreadsheet with the number of customer calls you handled successfully in one day, a detailed job description, or a list of prominent companies whose accounts you service are a few ideas. The only caveat is to make sure you’re not disclosing proprietary information. Letters of reference. If at all possible, never leave an employer without asking for a written letter of reference, providing you left in good standing, of course. And always ask that it be written on company letterhead. Transcripts. Many employers still ask for these, especially if you’re a new graduate. Even though they may verify it with the institution or request a certified copy, you’ll have it on hand at a moments notice. Certifications or Certificates of Achievement. The same rules as transcripts apply to any awards, recognition of service or accomplishments. Every training class, tele-course, or seminar that is career-related should be included. Don’t be embarrassed to show off a Red Cross workplace certification, either. CPR skills are valuable in every organization. Military service papers, if applicable. Some companies specifically seek out candidates with former military service, especially in high security or law enforcement positions.

Those are only the basic components of a career portfolio. No two will ever look alike. However, it’s a good start to staying ahead of the game. You never know when you might need it.

By: Maurisa Westbury

Are you someone who has always been interested in the spatial relationship between people and places? Have a knack for putting the right thing at the right place and making everything seem perfect? Or you simply love how to beautify your own room and believe that you can accomplish the same for others too? Then you might like to seriously consider an interior design career which you will most likely to excel in.

Right down from sketching concepts to shopping for furniture and household accessories, you will definitely find that there is no room for boredom in an interior design career.

In your interior design career, you will be tasked to help redecorate any particular environment, be it an office space, a residential space or even an exhibition area. At the same time along the course of your interior design career, you will also need to provide your helpful recommendations to your clients and explain the rationale behind every piece of concept.

Although an interior design career can be a very rewarding profession, it can also turn out to be very stressful to some people. Long hours in the studio, coming out with creative concepts and idea generation are all part of a fulfilling interior design career path. You will also need to hone your business management and social skills as most of the time you will need to deal directly with your clients.

Obviously, art and drafting classes are necessary if you want to develop your interior design career to a professional level. Educating yourself in software like AutoCAD will also improve your rendering and presentation skills. Most importantly, you need to focus on as much research possible and gather a lot of information regarding an interior design career before jumping into one.

You should also prepare yourself for internships with some of the best interior design consultancy firms around during your period of study. Learning on the job is one the best way you can gain insight on a successful interior design career.

By: Ray Baron
